Enterprise Marketing Systems
Revised on November 23, 2024
Our History
In March of 2012, Page Marketing was formed as a 7 person SEO/SEM consulting partnership as a result of market research suggesting that local businesses in Toronto were in desperate need for websites and related digital marketing services to be found on the internet. Our first office was located along Matheson Blvd in Mississauga just south of Pearson International Airport. Our present office is located in Etobicoke, Ontario. The consulting partnership grew quickly as our sales staff was able to find interested clients. As our client base grew we added new specializations. They are:
- Search Engine Optimization
- Search Engine Marketing (Google/Bing PPC)
- Google My Business Optimization
- E-Mail Marketing
- Reputation Management
- Social Media Management
- Video Marketing
- Local Marketing
- Mobile Marketing
- SMS Mobile Marketing
- Graphic Design for Digital Marketing
Our early success with clients was due to the use of video marketing for business. In fact in three separate client cases Page Marketing was able to save one business in Kitchener Waterloo from closing, help a tile/stone design contractor land a $16,000 architectural construction project and generated more than $250,000 in business for a trailer hitch company that spent the same amount of funds using Google Adwords.
In September of that year Page Marketing landed a major contract with a tour boat company. However, the company grew so much that there was a need to implement a project management process to fulfill services that clients asked for. In 2013, Page Marketing kept most of its clients, but dramatic changes in digital marketing technologies caused traditional business models in the industry to fail at a level not seen in 5 years. Some consulting firms collapsed due to outdated management process, infighting between partners, impatient clients, not learning the new technologies and lastly not realizing or being aware that the business model is not static but a dynamic process and only effective for 36 months. Clearly something had to be done!
The Need for an Advanced Digital Marketing Technologies Company
In January 2014, it was decided that although Page Marketing was very good at delivering traditional digital marketing agency services such as SEO/SEM, a new company had to be formed to provide advanced digital marketing services to clients. In 2019 the Ontario business licence was renewed and in October it has been renewed for a further 5 years till 2029.
The company structure was based on a small team of Page Marketing staff that would be assisted with referral partners of highly trained specialist in 9 categories seen below

The agency used a modified project management process for marketing initiatives
Planning: This is typically the first phase of most projects, and involves
outlining the full scope of the project. In some consulting organizations,
this phase follows the approval of a proposal or scope
of work. In many internal projects, the project begins with the planning
phase. We define the conclusion of the planning phase with the
client’s approval of the wireframes, and requirements document.
Visual design: This is often the most variable part of a project. In a
web site development project, the design phase is often the area of
the project where nontechnical team members have the most input,
and where many smaller projects run over budget. Your best approach
to keeping the visual design phase on track and on-budget is
to produce an excellent requirements document and wireframes.
Development: This is often the largest phase of the project, and
where you have the greatest opportunity to be efficient, focused,
and really allow your development team to stretch their wings.
Conversely, this is also where you have the greatest opportunity to
avoid the most dangerous mistakes from which most web projects
suffer. Depending on the type and size of project, the development
phase may start immediately after the planning phase, and conclude
up to the testing phase.
Content: The content phase of the project often overlaps with development
and testing. This is the phase where you engage your users
or client to begin populating the system you’re building with
content or data. As part of this phase you also provide training to
your client. Training is critical to the success of your project, but
sadly is one of the most often overlooked areas of web projects.
Testing: When we first started running web projects, staff felt
guilty about having a section of the project and budget called “Testing”
or “Quality Assurance.” After all, when delivering a quality service
or product, should it not be perfect? It’s taken us many years
to recognize that any project that does not plan for testing and
quality assurance will not only fail, but fail spectacularly. Depending
on the size of the project, quality assurance and testing can
represent 5%–20% of the project budget.
Launch: Simply completing development or testing of a project
does not define completion. It’s useful to identify explicitly the
discrete steps needed to launch a project successfully. We cover
launching a web site.
Defining the project: Before a proposal is signed it must first be
created. The task of turning initial, nebulous discussions with a client
about a problem they face into a sensible (for both you and the
client) proposal requires a thoughtful approach.
- Meetings, meetings, meetings: If there is one common theme
that binds together the activities of a project manager, it is the
meeting. Meetings can keep your project running smoothly as easily
as they can devastate budgets and sap morale. We talk about how
to run focused and efficient meetings that keep everyone happy.
- Support and operations: Of course, launching the web site is
only an intermediate step in the life cycle of your project. Now
comes the really hard part: support and operations. Without a
concrete plan for support and operations, even the most successful
project can begin to degrade and cause pain.

In 2024 the above mentioned services offered by Enterprise Marketing Systems have matured to a significant degree. In 2014 these systems were new and very very expensive and enterprise level companies were the only organization that could afford them.
Presently these advanced marketing technology systems are widely available to small and medium size businesses. When implemented properly they can help integrate sales and marketing operations, allow the creation of relevant content tailored to buyer personas, providing a scoring system and save time and money. Marketing technology systems are not totally hands off processes. They require staff acceptance and training plus the need to periodically review and update content for the company to keep up with its competitors.
However, in 2023 the development of artificial intelligence with regard to OpenAI’s ChatGPT is leading to the “Second Internet Revolution” as Large Language Models are able to aggregate large amounts of data from websites and databases to reconfigure information never before seen. This will allow users to not only automate mundane task at breathtaking speed, but create bots that can function as AI assistants that can be standalone apps or combine a number of them to create written and video content for companies, function as virtual assistants on a website or a telephone, write and decomplie code to check for errors to develop programs etc.
Even more surprising OpenAI is developing a ChatGPT search engine to rival Google’s. Microsoft already has incorporated AI in its search engine query. Chat GPT new search engine is expected to be released for all users by the end of 2024 and it will already have 2 billion users. It does not penalze AI content nor websites that have it. It will rival Google’s generative ai which will give direct answers as opposed to recomended websites which will affect the volume of traffic going to them. Also the legacy search engine peanailizes AI content and websites. This is driving websites to bing and ChatGPT and users are leaving Google because of this situation.
The implications for B2B and B2C entities are enormous as there is considerable pressure to cut cost in marketing and sales and operations. Large enterprises will either adopt AI systems in house to build and improve their websites, get their staff familiar with new marketing automation software programs to get marketing teams to produce relevant content to their buyer personas to link with sales teams to connect with them using video, webinars, landing pages, white papers or social media on a smartphone, tablet or desktop or laptop computer. Also enterprises will automate divisions such as HR and accounting ans soon turn to robots to do dangerous tasks, inventory control or if they are in the food service industry even deliver orders to customers.
Small and medium businesses in order to maintain their competitiveness will be under tremendous pressure to adopt AI systems. Most will turn to AI automation agencies/consultants to advise them how to deploy the AI software and tools effectively within a digital transformation situation. About 60% of US businesses do not have a website not to mention a marketing/lead capture system. Consultants and agencies will have to help these businesses set up AI marketing automation systems that will push out content and allow a small number of staff to post them (on a schedule) on websites and social media platforms for their buyer personas. It will allow sales staff to concentrate on interested buyers as opposed to causual visitors therby saving time and money and increasing conversion rates. Also it may help companies execute project management initiavives that result in new products and systems in a significantly shorter time.
For B2C firms, they can used AI telephone systems to answer basic questions from customers not to mention capture missed calls. It can also use SMS/text message marketing systems to send information to customers. The company can literally automate its marketing system to send promotions, special and offers to customers and build a membership club to create a long term relationship with them. Restaurants, retail and grocery stores now have automated checkout stations for customers who dont have the time to wait for tellers. Some companies are using robots to do inventory because they are faster then humans and produe less errors. With regard to business operations AI systems are being implemented in human resources, accounting, finance and purchasing departments to save time and money. Although they save time and money, it will require staff to be trained in prompt engineering to ask the right questions to maximize the productivity of these systems and be creative enough to build new AI tools to solve difficult problems.
AI systems will also have a dramatic impact on e-commerce as websites that would cost $50-100,000 and take 6 months to build can be built in about a week and will have products/descriptions scraped from databases in the thousands. They can be fully operational in a short time and will be paired with marketing/SEO systems to drive traffic to the website. Also they will have retargeting and remarketing systems to track customer buying patterns and provide promotions, specials and offers. Even paid advertizing platforms such as Google Adwords or Bing ads will have AI software that will analyze the effectiveness of the campaigns and recommend improvements.
With regard to hybrid cloud storage and cloud service brokerage, AI software systems will literally analyze a corporations IT system and recommend options for them. Consultants can easily generate proposals for prospective companies with audit analysis, benefits and weakness of the IT system plus options and cost. It will also recommend a team of experts needed to sucessfully execute the project and outline the time frame and date of completion. After completion of the project you could literally see AI software that could monitor the effectiveness of the implementation plan allowing companies and consultants to get real time data on the system and make improvments or adjustment.
